Daniel Hofmann sits on the board of various for profit and non-profit organisations in Montreal. Daniel holds degrees in Biochemistry, Strategic Management and Human Resources from McGill University and HEC Montréal. He is a serial entrepreneur and tech lover and has an infinite appetite for books, regularly reading a dozen per month.

As CEO, Daniel’s vision is to advance dry eye diagnostics and treatment and bring these solutions to patients worldwide. He is committed to building a customer centric company that differentiates through innovation, medical expertise, and strong ethical values. Though always carrying the very latest in technology, Daniel is old school in doing business through handshakes and the mantra “my word is my bond”.

On a personal level, Daniel is a dedicated husband who actively supports his wife’s political career in Ottawa, as well as being a father to an active toddler.

Daniel Hofmann

Dr. Ilan Hofmann is a recognized leader in the international research community with various patents and publications to his name. Ilan has a wealth of industry experience and scientific knowledge and has led the development of many first-to-market products in the ophthalmic and orthopedic fields.

In his early years, Ilan was part of a team of scientists that developed clinical applications of the hyaluronan molecule in ophthalmic and orthopedic surgery, as well as for use in the treatment of dry eye disorders in humans and animals. Over the years, Ilan developed many innovative and unique products, which were licensed out to companies across the world. Today, his inventions have been commercialized in more than 30 countries, and as the patents have expired, have led to many other products based on these original inventions.

Ilan holds a PhD in Biochemistry from McGill University and is fluent in 4 languages.  He enjoys learning every day, and his pride and passion is developing world-leading dry eye products.  Ilan is a devoted family man and animal lover.

Blair McEwen has his finger on both the pulse of the market and the research community to spot trends and leading-edge product opportunities. He manages the product portfolio of the company and is responsible for driving new product development forward. With R&D partners around the globe, Blair works around the clock.

Blair is a proven leader with over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, product development and corporate strategy. Blair earned his Bachelor of Engineering and Master’s in Business Administration from Concordia University.  In his spare time, Blair enjoys reading research papers and surfing the web for the next cool thing. His diverse background makes him like a swiss army knife in I-MED’s pocket. When someone in the office gets intimidated and says, “This is rocket science”, I-MED is blessed to have its own trained rocket scientist in Blair. He is passionate about his work, his wife and 3 kids, and his bikes!

Blair McEwen

Samantha is the latest addition to the team at I-MED Animal Health, she is very detail oriented and passionate about her work. Samantha works from home in the beautiful rural town of Utopia with her two fur babies; her cat Pebbles and dog Zoe. Samantha is a huge animal lover and waterfall enthusiast, when she’s not working you can usually find her on an adventure with her Labrador Retriever Zoe!

Vanessa is passionate about her work, as she can balance the scientific aspect of the products, all while working in the animal health industry. She also manages a team and does international business development. Vanessa has  B. Sc in Microbiology, as well as an MBA. She has experience abroad as she had previously worked in Vietnam, doing international business development. On a personal level, Vanessa is a proud cat mom who lives in Montreal, Québec.
